At Well Capital, this was what drove us to pursue multifamily. Initially, we wanted to make an impact on our early investors’ lives and financial futures. We knew our own financial goals would be realized if we could help others reach theirs. But what we didn’t envision in the early days was the sense of community that would be created. In partnership with our investors, we get to transform communities, both in the United States in the form of apartment transformations, and on the other side of the world.
We touched on it earlier, we all want freedom. But what makes Well Capital’s investor community unique is that they want it for others too. When a well is installed, the young women in that community get their freedom back. Instead of spending their days walking to an unsanitary water source, they can go to school again, and begin pursuing their own dreams. That is impact investing. It’s what drives the sponsorship team here at Well Capital, and it’s what makes what we do so enjoyable. Repositioning apartment communities is hard work, and it can be frustrating at times. But sharing the wins with our impact investors, both financially and in our company giving, is what continues to drive our pursuit of change. In our investors’ lives and beyond them.

What is Impact Investing and How does it Work?
Impact investing means investing beyond returns. Yes, we all want to retire early, with more savings than we imagined we could and passive income to pass down to the next generation. But, who doesn’t want to change the world for the better in the process? What if you could build your dream retirement and leave a lasting impact in the process? At Well Capital, our goal is to make this idyllic approach a reality for our investors. We hope to build a community of impact investors who understand that striving to better your personal financial situation doesn’t have to be a solo venture. Our purpose is to change lives, personal trajectories, and bring a level of fulfillment to our impact investor community that far exceeds any financial gain.
So we should probably provide examples. To date, Well Capital has funded three well projects in Madagascar, with another 3 expected to be funded by the end of 2021. Just those first three wells will change 588 lives, and we aren’t just bringing them clean water. Let me ask you another question.
At the root of all of this, these multifamily investments, what are you hoping to achieve deep down? Take a minute and consider your own situation, your influences, your long-term goals. What does that life that you are doing all of this for look like?
Well, we’ve asked many of our investors, and there were a few answers that kept coming up. For most of you, it is freedom. Freedom of decision, freedom from financial stress, freedom to work when and where you choose to, to live life by your terms. Freedom of time, freedom of location.. At the root of all of it, we all want a choice in how we live this life. We want our time to be ours to give, to use, and to invest in the activities that truly fulfill us.
